New Leadership, Structure, Strategy for SIGMA India

SIGMA is pleased to announce a significant milestone in our journey toward operational excellence and regional empowerment in SIGMA India.  As part of our strategic transformation, we are implementing an organizational restructuring which will streamline operations, enhance agility, and strengthen leadership at the country level.

India is poised to play a pivotal role in SIGMA’s long-term strategy, and to support this growth, we have created an organizational structure and leadership framework to optimize response to local needs and unlock new opportunities.  We have divided our India operations into four distinct territories: north, south, east, and west. This move will empower regional leaders with greater autonomy and accountability. SIGMA is fortunate to have a deep pool of talent, and we were pleased to promote existing personnel into leadership roles for this new operational model.  We congratulate the following team members:

Mr. Gopi Ramanathan has been appointed Managing Director of SPS – India Operations. A seasoned and trusted executive, Gopi brings strategic vision, operational depth, and proven leadership to this expanded role. He will continue with his current responsibilities while leading our India-wide initiatives and other global initiatives to strengthen performance and presence. He can be reached at GR1@sigmaco.com

Mr. R. Krishnan will lead the North and South regions. A metallurgical expert who is well respected in the industry, Krishnan has consistently delivered exceptional results—particularly in the South’s OEM sector. His technical expertise and market credibility make him the ideal leader for this dual-region role. He can be reached at Rk3@sigmaco.com.

Mr. Vijay Kishore Purohit (Professor) will head the West region. A renowned figure in the foundry industry, Professor has brought immense value through his leadership and domain expertise. He will also oversee the rollout of Lost Foam Fittings Technology in India.  He can be reached at VKP@sigmaco.com. Supporting this initiative, Mr. Jagadeesan also joined the team to lead Tooling, Design, and Development. He can be reached at JS2@sigmaco.com.

Mr. S. Baladhandapani (Bala) returns to SIGMA to lead the East region. Bala is well-versed in fittings and MCC, having co-led the introduction of QIP processes across multiple plants, including RBP (formerly Carnations). Most recently, he led valve manufacturing and tooling for a major U.S. firm and managed SFC operations. Bala can be reached at sb5@sigmaco.co.

Amit Chaudhury, Chief Operating Officer, explains the reasoning behind the plan:  “This new structure reflects our commitment to building a customer-centric, regionally empowered, and operationally excellent organization in India. We are confident these changes will help us respond faster, serve our partners better, and seize the exciting opportunities ahead.”

SIGMA sends a hearty congratulations to all the new regional leaders and wishes them much success!
