Product Spotlight: Domestic Restraints

SIGMA is pleased to highlight our new Domestic Restraint product line for ductile iron pipe.   

Joe Webb, Vice President of Sales, comments on the new line: “With increased demand for domestically manufactured products, SIGMA has taken steps to meet the needs of the market. Our domestic restraint line upholds the same quality assurance protocols as all SIGMA product, and will be delivered with the same efficient, courteous service that is our signature.” 

 Features include: 

• Designed to match respective pipe OD to provide proper contact and support. 

• Precise contours + pre-determined torque prevent damage to pipe wall and lining. 

• Auto torque bolt provides visual indication for installer to ensure proper torque. 

• Each bolt has a proprietary QC system to ensure breakaway at pre-determined torque. 

• Uses standard tools, no special equipment required. 

• Allows deflection of joint post-assembly 

• Re-Rounding Feature optional in larger sizes. 

• Coatings:  

  • 3-20” E-Coated 

  • 24-48” Z-Coated 

The domestic restraint line is also available with SIGMA’s innovative Re-Rounding feature upon request. This feature addresses the common problem of out-of-round (ovality) in pipes, which occurs frequently in large diameter applications. Ovality can stall jobs, costing time & money. 

Benefits of the Re-Rounding Feature include:  

• No external equipment required because the fix is built directly into the gland. 

• Faster joint assembly enables crews to resolve out-of-round conditions in minutes, not hours. 

• Fewer delays keep installation moving on schedule.
