SIGMA Scholars Fund Awards Six Scholarships
The SIGMA Scholars Fund (SSF) was established by Siddharth Bhattacharji and Victor Pais following the sale of SIGMA in 2025. The SSF’s mission is to award educational scholarships to children of SIGMA employees with the aim of instilling the spirit of learning during and after their years at college, and to foster success both in their careers and lives. The Fund had long been a goal of the founders and they are now in a position to channel time and effort to the project.
The SSF was created with and is administered through the professional guidance of CFNJ (Community Foundation of New Jersey), and in its first year awarded six scholarships, which will help support the recipients’ educations for the remainder of their college careers. We proudly announce this year’s recipients as awarded by Victor, Siddarth and the CFNJ guiding committee:
Lexi, Nova Southeastern University
Sophie, University of Florida
Michael, University of South Carolina
Naseer, Rowan University
Sarah, Columbia University
Jayla, Rowan College at Burlington County
Both Siddharth and Victor profoundly value education and share a commitment to advancing opportunity for all through charitable giving. They credit their success to the blessing of their sound educations. Victor explains: “The value of education has been very personal to me – as I grew up at a time and place where anything beyond a basic elementary education at a modest local school would have been a rare privilege, for anyone without the means! But I was blessed with an intense and sustained ‘yearning for learning’ which provided me a miraculous path to higher learning, first in engineering followed by business management at top institutions in India. It is this sound foundation that not only inspired us to start the global sourcing business but also to shape and scale the growth in an efficient and profitable manner, managing the challenges while identifying and converting the growth opportunities over four decades.”
Prior to the foundation of SSF, Siddharth and his late wife Mala stepped forward to support an inspiring charity called ‘SOFKIN’ started by an IT entrepreneur in the USA, to educate children of destitute women back in Mala’s home town in India. SOFKIN currently supports close to 100 young people.
We salute Siddharth and Victor on the establishment of this wonderful charity, we congratulate the 2025 scholarship recipients, and we encourage all college-age children of SIGMA employees to apply for scholarships through the SSF for the 2026-27 academic year using this link: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cfnjscholarship.
