SIGMA Scholarship Fund Changes Live

SIGMA is proud to congratulate SIGMA Scholarship recipient Emma Lewis, daughter of Brenda Lewis, Invoicing Clerk for the Western Region. Emma will be joining the freshman class at University of California San Bernardino this fall, where she will pursue a degree in Political Science and hopes to attend Law School in the future.

Brenda comments:  “I never went to college and I was determined that Emma would have that opportunity--but the costs were a problem. Then we learned about the SIGMA Scholarship Fund and it changed our lives. They were so helpful with the application process and now we don’t have to worry about covering her expenses.”

Emma graduated from A.B. Miller High School in Ontario California where she was an honor student, played Power Forward for the Varsity Basketball Team, and earned an IT Help Desk Certification as part of a work-study program.  She explains the impact of the SIGMA Scholarship:  “That feeling I got when we learned the news, I was so happy, so relieved. I had done the IT certification so I would be able to work and earn money for college and now I will have some breathing room in my budget to pay for other things. The scholarship was truly a game-changer for me.”

The SIGMA Scholars Fund was established by Siddharth Bhattacharji and Victor Pais following the sale of SIGMA in 2025. The Fund’s mission is to award educational scholarships to children of SIGMA employees with the aim of instilling the spirit of learning during and after their years at college, and to foster success both in their careers and lives. The Fund covers expenses for many educational options including four-year colleges, junior and community college, trade schools, and technical certification institutes. Siddharth explains, “We built this business from the ground up, but we know we could never have done it without our employees. This is our way of thanking them.”  The Fund had long been a goal of the founders and they are now in a position to channel time, effort, and resources to the project.

The Fund is administered by the Community Foundation of New Jersey, and they provide resources and support to assist applicants and their families through the process. For more information, please contact Faith Kreuger  fkrueger@cfnj.org or Colleen Smith csmith@cfnj.org.  Applications for the 2027-28 school year open in January and are due March 30: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cfnjscholarship.   All eligible employees are encouraged to apply and access this resource for their families.
