SIGMA Welcomes James Dynes, Regional Product Manager, SPE West
We send a warm welcome to James Dynes, our new Regional Project Manager for SIGMA Polymer Enclosures (SPE) in the West. James brings 15 years of sales experience in the construction, architectural, building envelope, glazing, and municipal arenas. He has worked as a superintendent and a foreman, and literally grew up in the construction industry: “I was on construction sites from age 5; my dad owned a construction company.” He views SPE as a tremendous area of opportunity, given the prevalence of remote metering and the need for reliable suppliers, and he sees the potential for a lot of organic growth.
Regional Manager Jon Taft comments on the hire: “SIGMA is devoting considerable resources to this division and making investments to ensure that our western customers are serviced efficiently. By bringing James on board, we are increasing our capacity to support expansion in the region. With this addition to the team, we will be better able to meet specs, tailor products to particular municipalities, and respond quickly.”
Prior to his career in construction sales, James worked as a firefighter in the Midwest. He attended Black Hawk College, earned his EMT certification, and fought fires for several years before the Iowa winters became too taxing and he return to his native San Diego. He enrolled in San Diego City College, studied business, jumped into sales, achieved success, and stuck with it. He describes his approach as “Old school. I humanize every interaction. I know people don’t want to be pushed with a hard sell. You always get a better reception when you just talk to people; no one wants a pushy salesman. I’ve sold to municipalities, airports, cities, governments, architects, and I’ve done well because I really value the relationships. Your word is your bond and you have to earn trust and deliver for your customers. The team here at SIGMA really gets that. I look forward to using my skills and knowledge to advance and expand SPE.”
When he’s not supporting the SPE team, James loves spending time with his 3 daughters ages 6, 9, and 20, particularly on camping trips. He also enjoys golf and auto racing.
SIGMA congratulates James on the new position and wishes him much success. He can be reached at jdynes@sigmaco.com or 858 232 9615
