SIGMA Welcomes Kyle Powell, Safety Manager

SIGMA is pleased to welcome Kyle Powell to the team as Safety Manager. Kyle will work out of the Southeast Regional Office in Alexander City, AL, where he will be responsible for developing and implementing company-wide systems and standards to ensure that our teams comply with the best environmental, safety and health (ESH) practices. Kyle brings 25 years of professional experience to the table, and spent the last 9 managing safety protocols for a workforce of 700.   

He explains his approach to the job:  “I’m a relationship builder and a pragmatist. This job requires buy-in from the teams on the floor and I value their input.  I’m not going to be sitting in an office making up lists of rules, I’m interacting with our crews, assessing their processes, and developing systems that will keep us all safer. This is not about checking a box to follow some guideline, this is about making substantive policies that protect our workers.”  

Amit Chaudhary, Chief Operating Officer, comments:  “With safety a high priority for SIGMA, we sought a top-notch safety management professional and we were fortunate to find Kyle. He will be leading the deployment of safety programs and supporting the continuous improvement of safety standards across all of our facilities.” 

Kyle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management from Auburn University with a concentration in ESH.  When he is not optimizing SIGMA’s safety protocols, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing, as well as spending time at the beach and traveling with his wife and three children ages 18, 15 and 13.
