SIGMA Welcomes Mark Carpenter, CEO

SIGMA is pleased to introduce our new CEO, Mark Carpenter. Mark brings over 30 years of experience in management, construction, water infrastructure, operations and sales to his leadership role at SIGMA. Trained as an engineer, he spent much of his career at Hanson Building Products, later named Forterra, where he undertook several leadership roles, ultimately working his way up to President. Prior to that, he served as a consultant and construction project manager building factories all over the world, notably in Africa, the Middle East, and Russia. He also worked in the UK, and since 2002, the US.

Most recently, Mark managed the restructuring, turnaround and ultimate sale of Dayton Superior Corporation, a leading manufacturer and distributor of engineered products for the construction industry. As President and CEO, he implemented comprehensive commercial, supply chain and operational changes that repositioned the company as the industry leader for customer service and innovation.

No stranger to SIGMA, Mark sourced our products for many of the projects he has led throughout his career,  and always found the service and reliability to be unmatched. He comments, “Across the industry, SIGMA is known for being honest, trustworthy, going above and beyond, and delivering no matter what. The tenure of our employees is also impressive; we have significant seniority and expertise. SIGMA’s superior customer service fosters loyalty, and that is a point of pride.”

When he’s not managing SIGMA, Mark enjoys spending time outdoors and running his farm. One place you will not find him is on the golf course; he explains with a laugh: “I was a rugby player in college and I was injured one season. I spent the next six months golfing and it was the worst six months of my life. There are more than enough golfers in the waterworks profession; if I have to spend the next five years driving Larry Rybacki’s golf cart it will not be good for anyone!”

We send Mark a warm SIGMA welcome and wish him much success. He can be reached at mcarpenter@sigmaco.com
