Michael Viox Comes Full Circle, Joins SIGMA as Enterprise, Resource & Planning Manager
SIGMA extends a warm welcome to Michael Viox, who joined the Company as our new ERP Manager. Michael brings a decade of IT experience to the role, but his first job was in construction. He worked for a utilities company in Montgomery Alabama installing—believe it or not—SIGMA products!
Prior coming on board at SIGMA, Michael served as a junior software developer and Profit 21 Specialist for various distributors. He describes his approach to the new job: “Eyes wide open. My momma always told me you have two ears and one mouth so you should listen twice as much as you talk. SIGMA has it together as a company—they are maximizing their ERP systems with the different divisions all needing to communicate. There’s a lot to learn, but I love a challenge.”
VP of Finance Don Muller comments on the hire: “Michael hit the ground running. He brings a wealth of experience with P21 particularly in reporting, customizations, user support, and WMS. He will focus on accelerating projects, increasing responsiveness, and ensuring consistent and timely communication with both leadership and users.”
Early in his career, Michael also launched his own technical company, providing hardware and network support for clients while he was in college. He explains, “I earned my college degree later, so I had to find a way to support my family while I was getting my education. I was able to provide freelance IT services while attending Middle Georgia State University, where I got a Bachelor’s degree in IT, and Associate’s Degrees in both Business and IT.”
When he is not providing ERP services to the SIGMA team, Michael is a serial hobbyist: “I collect hobbies; I dive deeply into them, learn all I can then move on to the next thing.” His current passion is 3D printing; he has three printers and is currently working on making dice. He is also a passionate karaoke artist--signature song is “Make it Rain” by Ed Sheeran.
