SIGMA Expands Sales Team in Western Region

SIGMA welcomes two new Team Members: Jake Irwin, Territory Sales Manager for Northern California and Nevada, and Travis Avila, SIGMA Polymer Enclosures Product Manager in the Western Region.

Jake brings 20 years of experience in the sales and service industries, and spent the last five in the construction sector helping run a window tinting business. He was looking for more opportunity, and when SIGMA Area Manager Chris Staudy reached out to him, Jake jumped at the chance.

Chris comments on the hire:  “I’ve known Jake since we were kids. He’s a quick learner, a hard worker, and his professional experience aligns well with SIGMA’s needs in this region.  He’s a great fit.”

Jake describes his sales approach as “Customer focused. It’s about being there for the customer, having what they need, providing the answers, and delivering solutions so they can grow their businesses. I’m a lace-up-my-boots and get-to-work type, so I’m eager to learn more about the SIGMA product lines and hit the ground running.”

Travis, SIGMA’s other new hire,  has covered this territory in both the smart water metering and polymer enclosure sectors, so he understands the products, the unique water challenges in the west, and the customer base. He is passionate about problem solving, and explains his approach:  “I love helping cities optimize their water infrastructure. When they find that with my help they can create and afford the best water system for their citizens, it is a total win. With water scarcity a major concern in the west, it is essential to identify and address leaks and monitor usage accurately. If the enclosure doesn’t enable the signal strength, the consequences are huge.”

Western Regional Sales Manager Jon Taft comments on the hire:  “SIGMA is devoting considerable resources to the Polymer Enclosures Division and making investments to ensure that our customers in the west are serviced efficiently. By bringing Travis on board, we are increasing our capacity in the region and we will be better able to meet specs, tailor products to particular municipalities, and respond quickly.”

Travis describes what drew him to SIGMA: “Innovation. I love working with a team that is driven to deliver the right product for the application at the right price even if they have to make adjustments and think creatively to find a solution.  SIGMA does that every day and I’m really looking forward to being part of that process.”

We wish both Jake and Travis a warm welcome and much success in their new positions. They can be reached as follows:

Jake:  jirwin@sigmaco.com  or 209 304 8212
